Whether you're a long-time fan of Filipino cuisine or trying it for the first time, this local favorite offers something for everyone.

Walking into Boonie's Filipino Restaurant, you are immediately greeted by the warm, inviting atmosphere that feels like a home away from home. The interior is casual and cozy, with a friendly vibe that makes you feel comfortable the moment you step in. Whether you're dining with family or catching up with friends, this place is perfect for a relaxed meal.

The menu at Boonie's Filipino Restaurant is a true reflection of the diverse flavors that define Filipino cuisine. One standout dish is the classic Adobo, a savory blend of chicken or pork marinated in vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, and a mix of spices, slow-cooked to perfection. It's a flavorful dish that's rich in history and is a Filipino comfort food favorite.

For those looking for a more adventurous meal, Boonie's also offers Sinigang, a tangy tamarind-based soup brimming with fresh vegetables and tender meat, typically pork or shrimp. The sourness of the broth is balanced by the sweetness of the vegetables, making each spoonful a delightful burst of flavor. Another must-try is the Lechon Kawali, crispy, deep-fried pork belly served with a side of soy-vinegar dipping sauce. It's crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and absolutely irresistible.

If you're in the mood for something light, the Lumpia-Filipino spring rolls-should definitely make it onto your order. Filled with a savory mix of ground pork, vegetables, and spices, these crispy rolls are often served with a sweet dipping sauce that adds a nice touch of flavor. It's the perfect appetizer to start your meal or enjoy as a snack on its own.

What sets Boonie's Filipino Restaurant apart from other spots offering Filipino food in Chicago is its commitment to using fresh ingredients and authentic cooking methods. Whether it's your first time or you've been coming for years, you'll always feel like a valued guest at this cozy establishment.

Many patrons rave about the restaurant’s unique take on Filipino desserts. If you have a sweet tooth, you can’t leave without trying their Halo-Halo-a traditional Filipino dessert made from a variety of ingredients, including shaved ice, sweetened fruits, jellies, and beans, topped with leche flan and a scoop of ice cream. It’s the perfect way to end your meal, offering a refreshing mix of textures and flavors.

For those who prefer to enjoy their meals in the comfort of their own home, Boonie's also offers takeout and delivery services. • We drove 1.5 hours from Kankakee (thanks Chicago traffic!) and it was worth every minute. Parking was easy—$7.50 for 3 hrs right in front. We arrived early and waited briefly, but service was excellent once seated. Ambiance is warm and authentic. The lumpia were fantastic, garlic rice divine, and crispy pata the star. Pancit (vegetarian) was flavorful, and kare-kare was unique though different from what I expected. The bagoong was perfect. We’ll be back!

  • Boom this place is bomb! Our server was super energetic and happy and I kinda liked it. The garlic rice is indeed the most awesome. The sisig is so flavorful. Their crispy pork was a miss but the wagyu steak which was a beef cheek was insanely good and tender. Overall really big fan!

  • We’ve been looking forward to Boonies since missing it two years ago, and it did not disappoint. Now officially our Chicago favorite. ???????? Every bite felt like home to us! so glad we finally made it this year and snagged a reservation (this place is always packed!). Huge thanks to Chef Joe and Joyce. We will definitely be back!!

  • Boone’s Filipino Restaurant delivered an amazing dining experience. I started with Bundok’s Fried Chicken, which was perfectly crispy, crunchy, and juicy. The house-made signature barbecue sauce on the side was flavorful and made each bite even better. For my main dish, I had the Bistek Silog with marinated beef short rib, calamansi, and caramelized onions. The short rib was incredibly tender and juicy, paired perfectly with fresh garlic rice and a runny egg on top—simple, comforting, and packed with flavor. The service was outstanding—friendly, polite, and attentive to dietary needs. The ambiance was cozy, warm, and vibrant while still feeling intimate. Boone’s is definitely a spot worth visiting, and I’ll be back.

  • A MUST TO VISIT. Authentic flavors. Here’s what I ordered for Brunch/Lunch. 1) Lumpiang Shanghai was authentic, with enough meat and garlic flavor. 2) Bistek Silog and Longsilog were really good. 3) Fried Chicken was very tasty. It’s not the same as Jollibee, and it shouldn’t. It’s authentic Filipino-flavored style fried chicken, and has its own individual taste. 4) I had ordered bagnet to go, so I’m assuming that’ll be amazing, too. They only have 1 dessert, which I decided not to get: Halo Halo. Not because it wouldn’t be good. Their ingredients, though included Ube jam and ice cream, were limited to macapuno and nata de coco. I like my halo halo with multiple texture, so the absence of mixed beans, kaong, etc, was the reason I didn’t get it. I know the flavor would’ve amazing, but I also wanted texture. In general, one of the best Filipino restaurant in mainland Chicago. EXCELLENT. (PS: their restrooms have a bidet, and feminine essentials for women if needed. Very well prepared.)

  • Loved everything about Boonie’s! The Sizzling Sisig, Maitake Piaparan, and Whole Fish Inasal were all standouts and packed with so much flavor. Cocktails were a hit too, we got the Paw Paw Margarita and Calamansi Sour. Such a cozy spot with great service and all the feel-good vibes. Can’t wait to go back.

  • We had the most amazing meal here! We use to frequent a lot of Filipino restaurants, and this is by far the finest experience. Everything was delicious and perfect; you can tell they pay a lot of attention to the preparation of the food. The ambiance and vibe is wonderful and we loved their music selection.

  • We really enjoyed the food, service and ambience. Our favorites were the sisig, adobong isda and the mango ice cream which were delicious! The cocktails were great. They have coat checks as well! Highly recommended and definitely will come back.
